Adult Counselling
(Ages 19+)
I work as a therapist with adult clients who are experiencing stress, feeling anxious, or dealing with life problems that seem overwhelming or any other concern.
We will work together collaboratively and at your pace to understand your biggest priority, what change you would like to see, and how to make progress toward that change.
Areas of Specialty
Clients who are new to counselling
Are you feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or anxious and not sure what to do next? Have you wanted to try counselling but don't know if it's for you or where to start?
Well, then you're in the right place!
With adult clients, I use solution-focused and cognitive-behaviour therapy (CBT) approaches to help you identify and understand what may be contributing to your concerns around your thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and relationships.
K-12 Educators
With the recent BCTF agreement covering RCCs for teachers, my 7 years experience working in K-12 environments make me a wonderful option for teachers seeking a therapist.
Academics
I work with postdoctoral researchers, professors, sessional instructors, and other staff and faculty in academia due to my lived experience in this context. My knowledge of this unique environment can help you identify your strengths and challenges and set and attain realistic goals for managing your time and demands, as well as how to take meaningful breaks and rest.
Adults with a Recent ADHD or ASD Diagnosis
Have you received a recent diagnosis of ADHD or ASD or both? In our work together, we can explore what this diagnosis means to you and how it may be changing past perceptions of your life. We can also talk about what to do with this knowledge and how to use evidence-based strategies to address any areas of strength or concern in your day-to-day life, such as communication, organization, planning, executive functioning, relationships, career goals, etc.
